A workplace mediator and coach, with a client base throughout Essex, London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, my approach is focused and pragmatic. This is based on 18 years experience in senior HR roles within the military and other management roles.

Having been a Regular Army Officer for 16 years and now a Reservist, developing others is a major part of what I love to do. Over the years, in an informal manner, my coaching and mentoring expertise has been put to good use in various roles, especially when leading teams in complex environments – both in the UK and overseas, including Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2014, I formalised my coaching experience and qualified as a coach and mentor with the Institute of Leadership and Management and now enjoy working with people from across many sectors. With regard to workplace mediation, I qualified in 2011 and have been a member of the Cross Government Mediation Panel.

In both coaching and mediation, I have been greatly assisted by the wide-ranging experience I have in a variety of leadership and management roles spanning Human Resources through to Project Management and Strategic Planning. The Army is a member of Business in the Community (BITC) and in my role as a Diversity and Inclusion manager in Army Headquarters, I was fortunate in the engagement that I had with a wide range of organisations including Google, BT, KPMG and Barclays.

My approach

Highly personnel focused, I foster an environment which aims to bring out the very best in people. My coaching style involves asking questions to challenge your thinking and on occasion, I will share relevant insights. This will enable you to achieve clarity, think differently and discover new ways to move forward. During workplace mediation, I will work calmly with both parties to hopefully get us to a successful conclusion by the end of the day. I enter every workplace mediation believing that it will be successful as rarely has that not been the case. In both coaching and mediation, I am highly motivated and have a passion to work hard in order that my clients achieve the result they desire. I work with tact, diplomacy and influence, and I am known for my natural empathy. I have a broad cross-section of clients from those in managerial positions to individuals seeking clarity in their lives.

Qualifications

Aside from a BA(Hons) International Business Studies and French, I have a Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Executive Management, a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, PRINCE2 Practitioner and I am a member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr MCMI). I qualified as a Workplace Mediator in 2011.

Genuinely cares

Emma is a pleasure to work with. Her cheerful and positive outlook make her very approachable and she is clearly very knowledgeable and professional. It helps in her role that she genuinely cares and wants to give support. Both myself and my husband worked with Emma and her feedback and proposed actions had great outcomes for which we are both very grateful.
